Logarithmic Functions:

  • Continous
  • One-to-one
  • Domain = (0, )
  • Range = (-)
  • Increasing if a > 1
  • The INVERSE of an exponential function

Only positive values are allowed in a logarithm

Special logarithms:
When base is “10”, it is called a decimal/common logarithm ( log(x) )
When the base is “e”, it is called a natural logarithm ( Ln(x) )
When the base is “2”, it is called a binary logarithm ( Lb(x) )
Used in a lot of Computer Science stuff because of binary.
