U-Substitution:
This is kind of the opposite of the chain rule.

How to do it:

Integration By Parts:
This is kind of the opposite of the product rule, and it’s the last resort if U-sub doesn’t work

How to do it:

Integration by Parts, which order to choose “u”:

  1. Logs
  2. Inverse
  3. Algebric AKA polynomials
  4. Trigonometric
  5. Exponential

Definite Integrals with U-sub and Integration of Parts:
For U-sub you can put “u” back into the solution and then solve it, or you could create new bounds by plugging in the x-value into your “u” equation.
For Integration of Parts, simply just evaluate “u*v” from a to b and then also the integral from a to b.
